“Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” As officially defined by the World Health Organization, a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Nutrition is the study of nutrients in food, how the body uses them, and the relationship between diet, health, and disease.
Nutritionists use ideas from molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics to understand how nutrients affect the human body.
Nutrition also focuses on how people can use dietary choices to reduce the risk of disease, what happens if a person has too much or too little of a nutrient, and how allergies work.
Nutrients provide nourishment. Proteins, carbohydrate fat, vitamin, minerals, fiber, and water are all nutrients. If people do not have the right balance of nutrients in their diet, their risk of developing certain health conditions increases.
Nutrition is a critical part of health and development. Better nutrition is related to improved infant, child, and maternal health, stronger immune systems, safer pregnancy and childbirth, lower risk of non-communicable diseases (such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease), and longevity.
Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
But most of us think health is only being free from illness. It is not entirely right. A person should be healthy both in terms of physical, mental, and social well-being and not a mere absence of any disease. Then we can say it is a good nutritional status. While Nutrition is the intake of food to the dietary needs of the body. Good nutrition (a sufficient and balanced diet combined with regular physical exercise) is a fundamental element of good health.
According to WHO
“Nutrition is the intake of food, considered in relation to the body’s dietary needs. Good nutrition – an adequate, well-balanced diet combined with regular physical activity – is a cornerstone of good health. Poor nutrition can lead to reduced immunity, increased susceptibility to disease, impaired physical and mental development, and reduced productivity’’
There are six different types of nutrients in foods. They are,
1. Proteins
2. Carbohydrates
3. Fats
4. Vitamins
5. Minerals
6. And Water
For a healthy body, we require all these six important nutrients. Carbohydrates, proteins, and fats are majorly required for bodybuilding and energy; the minerals and vitamins are required for the protection of our body and they give us resistance against different illnesses and also, they required for carrying out the metabolic actions in the body and keeping the body healthy. And water is a very important nutrient that keeps our body healthy.
There is a strong relationship between nutrition and health, and you’ll want to make the right food choices to ensure you live the best life possible.
Good nutrition is the key to leading a healthy lifestyle. We can improve our health if we take care of ourselves. Eating a balanced diet is an important part of good health. We should eat foods that contain six important nutrients which include whole grains, a source of protein, dairy, fruits, vegetables, and water.
Nutrition plays a role in promoting good health. So, we have to be careful about the foods and nutrients which should be emphasized in our diets, and how they can enhance our health. Diets full of fruits and veggies, whole grains, nuts, and lean meats have proven health benefits like lowering blood pressure, improving glucose control in diabetics, weight loss, improving arthritis, and reducing the risk of cancer and cardiovascular events, and so on.
Since we are born we need three things to live: oxygen, water, and food”. Food “is fuel” through which we obtain energy and compounds that help us to repair the body.
Once the food is eaten, the feeding ends, and nutrition begins, which we can define as the unconscious and involuntary process by which the body receives and transforms the nutritional substances that we give it through what we eat.
The relationship between food nutrition and health is immense. Food gives us energy and nutrients to live with.
Weight management is a strategy to stay healthy and prevent future diseases. It is quite often used for people who have a chronic illness. However, it is more often used for people who need to lose or put on weight, are in stages of growth, and for people who have an eating disorder.
Maintaining a healthy weight is important for health. In addition to lowering the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and high blood pressure, it can also lower the risk of many different cancers. Move more, eat less. Turning off the television and skipping the sugary drinks are two ways to get started.
Your weight, your waist size, and the amount of weight gained since your mid-20s can have serious health implications. These factors can strongly influence your chances of developing the following diseases and conditions: Cardiovascular disease, heart attack, stroke, Diabetes, Cancer, Arthritis, Gallstones, Asthma, Cataracts, Infertility, Sleep Apnea, etc.
Donna Marie is a self-care advocate. She believes, that you must take control of your health. Especially your day-to-day nutritional needs. You should know your body better than anyone else. Donna believes that treating the human body naturally is always better, which includes vitamin supplements, minerals, amino acids, and essential fatty acids and eating the right foods Vs prescription drugs.
Knowing where your blood level numbers are of these essential nutrients, especially when disease strikes, can make a difference between health, sickness, and life and death. Knowing where your blood levels are and making sure they stay at healthy levels, can prevent disease and illness. As long as you’re not drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes ( cause these 2 will suppress your immune system) and keep you unhealthy all by themselves, no matter how many vitamin supplements, minerals, and herbs you take. These 2 are immune suppression and will bring on disease.
When Donna was 18 yrs of age, she suffered from eye disease in one of her eyes. It would break out whenever her immune system was under stress from a bad cold or the flu. I would go to the eye doctor for an exam, get a prescription and they would send me on my way, with no knowledge of how she could heal from this. She went through this till around the age of 25.
She started doing extensive research and found that she was deficient in Vitamin (A) the fat-soluble. She’s been taking 10,000 IU every day since then, and no more break out. Until one day she switched to Vitamin A ( beta carotene ) water-soluble. It took 3 yrs for her body to get deficient in Vitamin A (fat-soluble), She started to get colds often, was sick with the flu, and then her eye breaks out.
She quickly had to think, about what she had done wrong, and she remembered she switched to Vitamin A ( water soluble. ) Her body needs Vitamin A (fat-soluble) which is stored in the liver, the water-soluble decreases in your urine, so your body doesn't store it. This fat-soluble Vitamin A saved her eyesight.
Around 2017, She found out she was low in Vitamin D3. She was experiencing tiredness, and sleepiness, felt slightly dizzy/off balance, knees were bothering her. She got a Vitamin D3 blood test, and her levels were 24ngml, which is dangerously low. When your levels are at 30ngml and below it could start bringing on disease. She now keeps her levels up in the 60ngml with 5,000IU Vitamin D3 every day. (and feels fantastic).
You must know what your Vitamin D3 levels are so you can take the appropriate amount. When buying supplements, be sure to get good quality and buy from a qualified health food store. Cause the cheap ones, have a lot of fillers and chemicals, and won't do you any good. Donna pray that when you read this, you will think about your health and how you can become more in control of Your healing.
